It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Felix on October 9th, 2024 at the age of 91.
Born in Stone, Saskatchewan, he moved to Agassiz, BC with hIs family and had spent his childhood working on the family farm. Later they moved to New Westminster where he attended school and university.
Felix moved to Calgary, AB and started his career with Imperial Oil where he met the love of his life Doreen. They married in 1955 and completed their family over the years with the birth of Allen, Sherry, Brenda and Karen. They moved throughout his career between BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Felix retired in 1987 and they moved from Ft. St. John to Westbank, BC in 1995 for warmer climate, while still wintering in Arizona. In 2006 they made their final move to Enderby where they fell in love with the community.
Felix started wood carving when he retired. He took great pride and care with every pair of boots, shoes or character he made. Sharing his carvings by gifting to others brought him great joy and he was known around town as the “Cowboy Boot Man”. He left his great grandchildren each a shoebox filled with carvings to help them remember him in years to come.
Felix was involved in numerous organizations and spent many hours volunteering over the years. He was a member of Lansdowne Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Fort St. John Masonic Lodge #13, Enderby Masonic Lodge #40 and Salmon Arm Masonic Lodge #52. He also supported the Enderby Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98 where you would find Doreen & him at the Jam Session every Thursday afternoon.
He was predeceased by his daughter Sherry, son-in-law Don, his parents and six siblings. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Doreen, children Allen (Kelly), Sherry’s husband Jim, Brenda (Dave) and Karen, as well as 7 grand children and 11 great grand children.
