So sad to hear of Derek’s passing. We used to play in a band together, the Oaken Noggins. I guess Derek was needed to play in the Angel Band with our other bandmate, Jim Soper. RIP buddy.

Fond memories of when we climbed the Killarney mountains with our son James. Derek was a good entertainer, carpenter, writer, songwriter, artists. He loved to learn from people he met and loved to share his his talents.

We loved Derek’s music, his mischievous smile and never ending jokes. Have many fun memories spending time together since Derek moved to the Okanagan and Shuswap areas of BC. No doubt he was welcomed into heaven with open arms by
his parents and Nephew. RIP Derek Until we meet again. Our deepest sympathies to all of Derek’s family and friends.

RIP Derek
Would like to share the fond memory of the 1st time I met Derek. It was early 70’s and the last couple hours of a skate-a-thon at the arena in Parry Sound. Didn’t think I was going to finish when you skated up, introduced yourself and we finished the challenge together. Then you insisted on gaving me a lift home in Lawrence Campbell’s taxi before heading home to Wabamic. Will never forget your kindness.
