January 29, 1979 – February 26, 2025
at the age of 47 years:
With great sadness, the family of David Adams announces his passing. David also known as Dave passed away on February 26th, 2025, in Salmon Arm, BC. He will be remembered fondly by his family friends and community.
Born in Alberta in January of 1978, David was a free spirit. His family moved to Revelstoke, BC in the late 80’s and again to settle in Grindrod, BC. He was predeceased by his mother Jacky Higgins, stepfather Patrick “Pat” Higgins and his older brother Randal “Randy” Adams. David will be greatly missed by his surviving brothers Shaugn Higgins and Kyle Higgins as well as his distant family. In addition, among many others, he will be deeply missed by his loyal dog Fraidy and the family he chose in life, Donovan Shipmaker, Rhonda Young and Jeffery Szalanski.
David was loyal and loved helping others. He was a valued and larger than life member of the Salmon Arm community. He was respected for his compassion for others and would have given the shirt off his back to someone in need. As a free spirit, David was a travelling man and true Outlaw. He took pride in being a man of his word and his loyalty was unmatched. He enjoyed camping out and sharing beers around a fire with his family and friends, and listening to his favourite music such as John Prine, Tom Waits and The Counting Crows. David will be missed dearly.
There will be a potluck style celebration of life held at the Salvation Army in Salmon Arm, BC on Friday, March 14th at 1 pm. The family asks that you respect their privacy and honour Dave’s memory respectfully.
“When I get to heaven, I’m gonna shake God’s hand. Thank Him for more blessings than one man can stand” – John Prine
Dave it’s Dave and man you lived hard but definitely on your own terms,I’ll see you in paradise my friend and my warmest condolences to family and friends and let’s keep the strength and peace for each other
It doesn’t seem real Dave, I knew something was off that day. I never thought that I would be walking into your place Frady barking at you and finding you gone to the other side. My heart sunk that day of sadness, I knew you were gone, looking down in a deep sleep.
The dreams and goals, you shared with with me. You wanted change, go to treatment, work on the farm, build a cabin for you a Frady.
You now can live your dreams , watch over Frady and your loved ones.
You’re forever missed and loved my friend until we meet again. ❤️
