February 2, 1939 – January 21, 2025
at the age of 85 years:
Jane passed away the morning of January 21 at her home at Arbor Lodge, Salmon Arm, BC. In her last years, Jane longed to go home to glory to be reunited with her husband of nearly 60 years, Bud, who passed away in 2018 and with her son, Duane, who passed away in 2022 from cancer. They are together again with the Lord in joy, peace and love.
Left to remember her are Jane’s daughter Debra (Dave) Johnston of Big Valley, AB, daughter in-law Shelley Muir of Williams Lake, BC, grandchildren Shayla and Corey of Williams Lake and Colby and Blake of Big Valley. As well, Jane will be remembered and missed by her church and thrift store family as well as long time friends, relatives and acquaintances.
Jane was born in Iola, Alberta. She met Bud in Ashcroft, BC, where they were married in 1958. Jane and Bud lived a life dedicated to each other, their family and the Lord. After spending several years building a business and raising their family in Quesnel, BC, they relocated to Salmon Arm to spend their retirement years. Both worked various jobs until they retired and then spent many hours volunteering for the Churches of Salmon Arm Thrift Store, which was Bud and Jane’s second home.
After Bud passed, Jane made the decision to leave Salmon Arm for a while to live with her daughter Deb and then with her son Duane before returning to Salmon Arm to live out the remainder of her years.
Jane is predeceased by other family members: father Tom, mother Anne, brothers Don and wife Angie, Len and wife Sharon, Ken and Merv. She is survived by sister Fay, brother Lorne (Sharon), sister in-law Corinne, as well as sisters in-law on Bud’s side, Lynda, Carol and Jean along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Interment will be held at Salmon Arm late spring or early summer with a private family service. Thank you to the staff and Jane’s adopted family at Arbor Lodge who made it possible for Jane to come home for her last years, your service and support are very much appreciated.
